Financial Controller

As Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are now looking for a new Financial Controller with a passion for process automation and innovation. In this role, you will be an important factor into further growing our business, driving automation and making sure we meet all our regulatory requirements. You will own and control core financial reporting deliverables together with the rest of the team.

What this role looks like

As Financial Controller, you will be joining a team with enthusiastic professionals. You will work closely with our VP of Finance & Operations, our Financial Controllers and the rest of our Finance Team. This is a full time job remote position from Colombia, where you will be working for our global teams. 

We are looking for an entrepreneurial mind with a go-getter mentality, who can thrive in a dynamic scale up environment. This role provides ample room for growth in a fast paced, ever changing environment.

Your key responsibilities as Financial Controller

• Oversee and maintain strong cash flow management and reporting for the company.

• Support the monthly closing process and continuously improve this process together with the Financial Controllers and financial operations team;

• Initiate and own improvement and automation projects in our ERP system (Netsuite), in collaboration with our Netsuite Admin;

• Annual closing work & reporting (together with Financial Controllers);

• Support and ultimately own the financial data running through our systems;

• Together with the team you guard the integrity and relevance of reported figures;

• Identify key drivers as well as risks and improve reporting accordingly;

• Work together with the VP Finance to achieve the key objectives of the finance department.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

What you will bring to the Finance team

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field;

• 2-7 years of relevant experience in Finance;

• Experience with Financial reporting and a strong understanding of accounting principles;

• A result-oriented, proactive, inquisitive personality with a hands-on, pragmatic, and collaborative work mentality;

• You are curious to have a deep understanding of the business and its drivers, whilst also understanding how the financial statements reflect the business;

• Understand what it takes to work in a fast-growing & dynamic (non-corporate) organization;

• Have an analytic approach and are not afraid to dive into systems and the nitty gritty details;

• Enjoy working with colleagues within the finance department - and outside;

• Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with management and teams across the organization;

• Proficient in English (our company language) + Dutch would be a plus;

Would be an advantage if you have:

• Experience with budgeting and/ or forecasting;

• Experience/ affinity with our systems (Netsuite, Salesforce, Stripe).
