Whilst Virtuagym keeps on growing, we are now looking for our next Head of People & Culture. Reporting directly to the COO, you will be building and executing our People strategy, professionalizing the People Operations, taking our recruitment to the next level whilst managing our fantastic People team. 

In the past few years our People Operations have been heavily automated which enables us now to focus on the employee journey: Making sure that creating a life experience is covered in all HR initiatives, like employee engagement, rewarding, retention and culture.

This role as Head of People & Culture is based at our Amsterdam office and a full time (40 hours) role (part-time can be discussed) position. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from home or any location you want.

What this role looks like
As Head of People & Culture, you will manage a team of 2 enthusiastic HR professionals (HR Officer / HR Business Partner), an independent recruiter, and you are responsible for facilities in which our office manager fantastically supports you. You will also be a key advisor to the Board (2 CEOs, CFO, CCO, COO) and attend weekly board meetings.

The past two years were focused on strengthening the HR foundation by implementing a new HR system (Bamboo HR), automating operational processes, implementing a HR data center, and documenting procedures and policies. In the next phase we will further develop the People strategy, focusing on topics like culture, rewarding and development.

In outline, you focus on:

  • (re) developing the HR and recruitment strategy, translating the strategy into a roadmap and following up the implementation of all defined projects;

  • Managing and coaching our high performing team of People Professionals;

  • Setting OKRs and KPI’s for the People team and facilitating the company-wide OKR cadence;

  • Further optimising the employee experience;

  • Ensuring operational excellence, and an optimal and flawless user experience;

  • Further expanding the HR analytics needed to drive performance and engagement and to increase retention.


The projects of priority for the coming months:

  • The development and implementation of a rewarding program;

  • (re)Defining our corporate culture and values and translating them (in conjunction with the company-wide strategy) into a communication plan whilst ensuring they are reflected in all HR initiatives;

  • Identifying, capturing and securing all core responsibilities and KPIs included in our org chart;

  • Expansion of our feedback culture, in addition to our current performance review and peer feedback cycles;

  • Building the infrastructure required to attract, onboard and grow talent aligned with hiring planning;

  • Strengthening our Employer brand in close cooperation with Marketing.


The main KPIs you will be driving are:

  • eNPS and employee engagement;

  • Officevibe participation rate;

  • Employee retention;

Exigences

What you will bring to the HR Team

  • You have 5+ years of experience in HR;

  • And 2-3 years in an HR Management role;

  • You are able to combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution;

  • You feel comfortable advising and challenging senior leaders on a daily basis;

  • 'Empathy' is your middle name and ‘entrepreneurial’ your last;

  • You have excellent project and stakeholder management skills;

  • You lead your people by example;

  • You are familiar with Dutch labour law;

  • You hold a valid Dutch working visa.
